    Home to Canada's naval presence, Esquimalt has a considerable military community. This up and coming area has a lot of new commercial and residential developments in the works. There are beautiful parks, beaches, waterfront walkways, heritage buildings, historic sites, structures and cultural landscapes.


    A favourite place to visit is Saxe Point. Saxe Point is a lovely waterfront park with stunning gardens, walking trails, picnic areas and impressive views of Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic mountains.


    Another highlight is the West Bay Walkway which follows the Esquimalt shoreline, connecting Esquimalt to downtown Victoria. The pathway is roughly 5 KM in length with beautiful views all the way. This is a fabulous option for an evening stroll and a great place to watch the sun set. There are a couple great restaurants along the route if you wish to stop for a drink or something to eat: Spinnakers or for exceptional waterfront dining try Boom + Batten.
